Year of the Fire Horse - Expect Bold Transformation in 2026

We're kicking off 2026 with some amazingly intense and transformative energy because 2026 is the Year of the Fire Horse, and while it technically doesn’t start until February 17^th, I’m already feeling its heat (or wild fire…? 😉 ) coming in and I am SO excited about this energy…. It also helps that I’m a Virgo and my husband is a Pisces and it predicts amazing change for us…!

Maybe you’ve felt an incredible surge of energy lately, like the universe is pushing you to make change or start something new, or you feel the need to declutter, purge, or MOVE. This is fire horse energy at work!

The Year of the Fire Horse comes once every 60 years and was last seen in 1966… the year we saw the founding of the Black Panther Party, the first woman to compete in the Boston Marathon, we were in the thick of the space race and the Soviet Union docked Luna 9 (an unmanned craft) on the moon, and society saw a huge change as the “Swinging 60s” came into full swing…. (see what I did there)? These were times of A LOT of positive change, and we can expect this energy to come back this year… Hopefully kicking a lot of people into action that have otherwise been sitting on the sidelines.

We are talking about two powerful forces coming together: Fire and Horse. And when I say powerful, I mean really fucking powerful. The energy that will define this year is transformative, dynamic, unstoppable energy. Imagine the force of a horse running toward you at full speed. THAT is the power and momentum behind us in 2026. Now, imagine that horse is on fire… Yep. BIG energy friends, HUGE.

The Element of Fire

Let’s break down the two pieces of this energy separately. In Chinese elemental philosophy, fire represents passion, transformation, and pure creative force. It is purification and it burns away what does not serve us. There are tons of expressions around us that allude to this energy. People might say something has a “spark” or a “light” about them. We refer to the phoenix as a marker of rebirth as a result of the fire that consumes it to allow life to restart. Fire is courage, it's authenticity, it's the part of you that says, "I'm going after what I want, and I'm not apologizing for it." It is the best kind of “fuck you I’m doing it” energy.

Fire doesn't ask permission. It illuminates, it warms, it transforms everything it touches. This year, fire energy is asking you to step into your power without holding back. It's about expressing yourself boldly, pursuing your passions fearlessly, and letting yourself burn away the shit that no longer serves you. This is the year that encourages you to fuck around and find out.

Fire is often thought of as destructive, but it is in the most beautiful kind of way. For example, when a fire consumes a forest, it leaves behind very nutritious soil in its wake. This year, allow fire to create fertile ground for the next version of you.

The Year of the Horse

Horses symbolize freedom, independence, intuition, and forward momentum. The horse energy asks you to tap into your inner wildness and release them. Let your wild spirit free. Horses are also used in equine therapy because they are one of the most intuitive animals. They can perceive people who are authentic versus those who are not. They intuitively know who to trust and who not to trust. It’s how they survived in the wild. The oldest female would stand guard and alert the rest of the herd when to run… because that was their best defense. So lean into your intuition this year and you will begin to move with more grace and purpose. In Chinese astrology, horse years bring adventure, social connection, and this incredible drive to break free from anything that's been holding you back. This is a call from your higher self to embrace authenticity and take huge strides toward what you want.

The horse doesn't overthink the journey—it runs. It trusts its instincts, it values its freedom, and it moves with confidence toward its destination. The year of the horse rewards action over analysis, movement over stagnation, and courage over comfort. When you’re feeling stuck, move your body and flow into horse energy in 2026.

Fire + Horse Energy Combined

When you combine the energy of both the fire and horse, we get a ton of support from the Universe. As I said earlier, the year of the Fire Horse comes around only once every 60 years… and it's known for bringing intense, transformative energy. This isn't a year for playing small or staying in your comfort zone. This is a year that demands authenticity and rewards bold action.

Fire Horse energy is rebellious in the best way—it challenges outdated beliefs, breaks through limitations, and refuses to settle for anything less than what sets your soul on fire. It's passionate, it's unstoppable, and it's asking you to trust yourself completely.

Harnessing The Energy of the Fire Horse in 2026

So how do we work with this incredible gift? Here are some ways to lean into the Fire Horse energy:

• Follow your passion projects. That thing you've been putting off because it feels too big or too bold? This is your year. The Fire Horse is giving you the courage and momentum you need.

• Move your body. Channel that horse energy through movement—dance, run, practice yoga. Physical momentum creates energetic momentum.

• Say yes to adventure. Break your routines. Travel, try new things, meet new people. The horse craves variety and new experiences.

• Speak your truth. Fire energy demands authenticity. Stop dimming your light to make others comfortable. Your voice matters.

• Trust your instincts. The horse moves on intuition. If something feels right in your body, honor that wisdom.

• Be brave in your connections. This is a socially dynamic year. Put yourself out there, build community, collaborate with others who inspire you.

Here's what I want you to remember: 2026 is not the year to wait for permission, to play it safe, or to wonder if you're ready. The Fire Horse is telling you that you were born ready.

Your dreams, your goals, your vision for your life—they're all possible, and this year's energy is literally designed to help you run toward them….or should I say gallop? 😉
